95-hour Certified Training for “Yoga in Your School” and RYT‑C certification with Yoga Alliance

Teressa Asencia, author of “Yoga in Your School” and “Playful Family Yoga”, has taught Yoga and creative dance internationally for twenty-five years. She holds an E‑RYT certification from Yoga Alliance as a “grandparent” of Yoga who has taught more than 5,000 hours of Yoga before the year 2000. Teressa Asencia has created a 95-hour certified training that meets the Yoga Alliance Standards for their new specialty training for teaching Yoga to children, RYT‑C. Upon completion of the course, each participant will receive a certificate for having completed Teressa Asencia’s certified training. Yoga teachers who already have RYT or ERY‑T may take this certificate to Yoga Alliance to receive their new RYT‑C specialty certification for teaching Yoga to children. More.

Yoga in Your School

For school teachers and certified Yoga teachers who would like to teach Yoga in schools, or train school teachers to teach Yoga in the classroom.

Teaching is one of the most essential professions and also one of the most demanding. This course, based on the book, “Yoga In Your School”, by Teressa Asencia, is designed to help teachers integrate simple movement and breathing exercises into their daily classroom schedule to:
• Strengthen physical and mental well-being
• Enhance energy and concentration
• Enjoy a calm, content, centered classroom
• Create a more enjoyable efficient learning process

Children love to move. When they sit still too long, they feel tense and it is more difficult for them to learn. By taking time for a few stretches and breathing exercises daily, teachers may inspire students to tap into their innate wisdom, creativity and potential as they create a more harmonious classroom.

Take a Yoga break - Integrate simple movement and breathing exercises into your classroom schedule

This course presents a series of short Yoga breaks designed for teachers to easily insert into their daily classroom schedule. Each posture or breathing technique may be practiced in less than three minutes, so that they may be used regularly or as needed, when attention or energy begins to wane. These short exercise segments may also be combined to create longer sequences for physical education classes, playgrounds, athletics, recreation centers, camps, and dance schools.

This course is designed to:
• Present simple Yoga based stretches and breathing techniques that teachers may use in their classroom
• Train school teachers and certified Yoga teachers who would like to train school teachers to use Yoga in their classroom
• Encourage teachers to ask questions and share their experiences as they discover the best way to integrate yoga breaks into their daily    classroom schedule…without creating waves
• Offer teachers additional resources and materials to deepen their knowledge of Yoga and enhance their own energy
